AC Cooling Comfort from Air Design for ELIJA Farm for Young Adults with Autism

Air Design in Valley Stream, NY has been serving Long Island home owners for more than 50 years. When they heard about the mission of ELIJA Farm, a 501c (3) non-profit organization, to provide innovative, farm-based learning experiences for differently-abled persons along the autism spectrum, they wanted to offer their expertise to help out. 

“We were thrilled to be able to contribute to this wonderful project,” said Jim Padavan, Co-Owner and President at Air Design. “The whole Air Design team was eager to pitch in. We know from personal experience that autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities affect everyone. We love our community and wanted to help families in the area find the support system they needed. We asked Carrier® to donate an air conditioning system and they agreed. Our team did all the ductwork and the installation of the new Carrier air conditioning system.”

The air conditioning system now provides cooling comfort for the staff and young adults in a building where there was previously no cooling system.

“You have no idea how that AC made our kids so happy this summer season!!!!!,” said Debora Thivierge, Executive Director of ELIJA. “The entire Air Design team are a wonderful group of guys with big hearts.”

The ELIJA Farm continues its mission of providing farm-based education and support in Long Island, now with a cool, comfortable home for the warm months.
